Winter - December, January, February Sadly there was no fishing activity from the middle of December to early February. There were those that tried in late January but the fish were not having it!
With the heavy snow falls in December and January the fishery was deserted, despite quite a few members booked in for a session from Boxing Day onwards.
February and March have been mixed, but with the catches slowly but surely coming through.
New members and renewals have continued at a fairly steady pace with the special offers earlier in the year.
There is no doubt that the credit crunch is taking it's toll, whereas in previous "hardtimes" anglers generally were able to continue fishing quite regularly, these days there are different priorities for obvious reasons.
To that end we have made some adjustments to the our tariffs, which we hope will attract new members and ease the situation for our existing members.
So we look forward to seeing more on you on the bank in the future weeks and months.
We have also relaxed the rule banning bait boats, see the Bait Boat page on the website for more details.
Please continue to email us with your catch reports and photos, we would far rather print your own version of the events as they happen.
Dont forget to let us have your feed back on the website, constructive suggestions and comments are welcome. You should be able to get all the information you need from our website, but please feel free to pick up that old fashioned method of communication, the telephone if you would rather speak to someone at the Fishery.
We have a great time with our summer week-end competitions, everybody wants to win but it is done in a really friendly manner. It would be great to see some more new faces participating. If you are interested contact the office or one of the Bailiffs.
Don’t forget all members are welcome to call in for a tea or coffee to find out the latest, we love to see you and you don’t have to be fishing to pop in to say hello!
