JUNE A seven day session on Mallard's peg 11 for Peter Barnett gave him a real mixed bag - 14 fish - best being a pb 39lb 8oz cat and a good mix of commons, mirrors and leathers all being mid to upper teens.
Kevin Oliver had a fabulous week-end on the double swim on Kingfisher, producing two commons of 45lb and 25lb, a koi of 31lb 8oz, Red Card at 25lb 8oz and a mirror of 17lb 8oz. The first forty for Peter Fraser was a 44lb 4oz mirror from Mallard, he reckons there are a load more in there and will be back!
Just to endorse the fact that our bailiffs are here to help with advice or physical assistance- Gary Carey wanted his thanks passed on to Stuart for his help after tackling a 22lb cat and 18lb carp.
Brian Clark and Ian Darke always have a good social when they spend a week on the Mallard - in addition they actually catch some fish too! Brian took a cat of 44lb 6oz and several mirrors and commons to 20lb. While Ian had cats of 24lb and 44lb 8oz with one mirror and one common.
After a five year break Ashley Hobson made a return visit to Mallard's peg 16, five fish in all with new cat pb of 32lb.
First timer, Richard Haide promises to be back after landing a 9lb tench, 21lb mirror and 31lb koi, how's that for a first trip?!
All Bill Brown's efforts paid off with a new pb cat of 61lb, we are convinced it was longer than Bill, dont think he even tried to pick it up????
Red Card put in a appearance for Stephen Thomas at the end of June, a new koi pb og 26lb.
A new record was broken for Cliff Sivyer when he landed a Wintons carp in front of his missus, it has only taken him 10 years!!!! Surely she cant have failed to be impressed with a 33lb 8oz common from Kingfisher?
Late in June Ryan Steadman had a really hot session on Heron! Both with the weather and his rod action - his session produced nine commons, 17lb 8oz koi, 22lb 4oz cat and new pb cat of 32lb.
JULY
Judging by the Log Book entries July got off to a very slow start.
Then a session for Kelly MacKenzie produced a selection of seven cats from Mallard's peg 7, including a new pb of 51lb 10oz.
Activity on the bank continued for Ben Watson on Heron, he took two commons, best 23lb 11oz and four cats incuding a new plb of 39lb .
A stunning pb common of 44lb 14oz was a new pb for Gary Furminger.
Wally Wassell spent a session of Heron and successfully recorded three cats including a pb of 36lb and a common of 24lb.
A "very happy" Todd Slaughter "loves this place", after recording a new pb mirror of 39lb 11oz.
The channel on Mallard proved an obstacle for Martin McMahon with three lost "good cats", but made up for it with four others, best being 50lb 8oz and a selection of commons and mirrors,
A 2.00am alarm call for Don Blackman was one he didnt mind getting, there was a 43lb 2oz cat on the end of it!
A first session on Kingfisher for N. Bond was successful with Red Card showing up at 26lb 8oz.
Ten days on Mallard's peg 7 for Bill turned out to be an arm aching and back breaking session for him. He recorded 34 fish - his cats included three thirties, five forties, and one fifty and and two sixties. What a result! Poor old Bill did his back in during this session, we wish him wlll and a speedy recovery.
A session on Mallard for Karl Francis with Maple 8 gave him a new common pb of 31lb 12oz.
It didnt take Ben Humphrey and Chris Bright long to book in for a session after breaking up for the summer holidays! Ben was concentrating on the cats and despite the bad conditions took seven fish , best being 37lb. While Chris had two cats to 45lb and three carp to 23lb. Well done boys!
Luke Veness had heard the the going was slow, but was delighted with his new pb common of 26lb 12oz, together with a 22lb cat from Heron on pellet.
AUGUST
A week on Mallard for Iam Darke got his pulses racing, a new cat pb for 53lb 4oz and fusion gave him a stunning 31lb 4oz common
A "quality" common of 33lb 4oz from Mallard was S.Lewis's reward.
"Meat and Worms" aka Tony Barker made a return visit to Kingfisher early in the month taking a 24lb 9oz common.
"Best fishing ever" was Harry C's verdict after a session on Mallard's peg 7, six commons, best being 26lb and six cats to 49lb.
A nugget session for Barrie Allen on Mallard gave him 15 fish, best new pb cat of 52lb.
A 72 hours session for Glen Jones saw him record 11 fish, two mirrors, five commons, on koi and three cats, best being 46lb 8oz.
Brother Joe and Lou Stempien had a three day session on Mallard's pegs 16 and 17, Joe's best was 35lb 7oz cat, while Lou had a selection of mirrors, commons and koi to 28lb 10oz.
We have helped "dreams come true" for Mark Rich, who spent three days on peg 7 and took a total weight of 450lb 4oz. A new pb cat of 54lb 9oz, plus 11 others and four carp.
Brian Tickner was happy with his previous cat pb of 48lb, never thinking that he could improve on that! So it was a "pb to dream of", when he landed a 61lb 8oz cat from Mallard's peg 3.
A 72 hour session for Barry Blackman on Heron was great fun for him, 11 fish on the bank kept him busy and he will be back.
Matt Abbot's "best session so far", was spent on Mallard's peg 10, rewarding him with a pb cat of 48lb.
