CATCH UPDATE
  SPRING - March, April, May

 
A 72 hour session on Kingfisher for Jon Moss produced six fish, with a new pb common of 46lb being the icing on the cake.

A day on Mallard for Ian Still gave him a superb cat of 41lb 7oz.

Owen Giles armed with his trusty seven weight fly rod set about catching a carp from Heron, after getting the carp to feed freely he cast his line to a feeding fish and after one helleva scrap landed a beautiful common of 27lb.

72 hours on Mallard's peg 3 saw T. Goody land an impressive haul of seven fish, his best cat of session being a 38lb specimen, whilst his best carp was a mirror of 29lb 8oz.

Ricky Allen down for the first time set up on Mallard's peg 14 and a mainline pop up gave him his new pb common of 31lb 12oz.

Ron Young, now a very spry 83 years young also fished three days, but only managed in losing one good cat.

James Foster set up on Mallard's peg 16 for a 72 hour session and had a whale of a time recording six cats, best being 42lb and four carp to 22lb.

A life long member, Andy Verrier could not have had many more “great sessions”, like the one he had on Mallard's peg 11, where he logged eight carp to 28lb 4oz.

April saw a “brilliant session” for Lee Wilson after his four day stay on Mallard's peg 20. Lee logged 13 fish which included three new pb's.

Three days spent on Kingfisher's peg 21 in early April were very slow for (2954), but he did manage to smash his pb “out of sight” with a stunning common of 41lb 8oz.

A week-end on peg 15 saw Nick Webb capture nine fish, with the best being a stunning cat of 40lb 8oz.

There were two pb's for Biff who fished Heron's peg 39, a common of 24lb 10oz and a cat of 40lb.

Four very hot days were spent on Mallard's peg 3 by Dan Mauldon, but even in the heat Dan had an amazing session. Capturing 21 cats and two carp. Five of the cats broke the 30 pound barrier, with the best at 45lb, while his best carp was a common weighing in at 27lb 8oz.

There are no flies on our bailiff Stuart as he captured a koi of 30lb 8oz from Kingfisher, a new pb for Stuart on the fly rod!

Three day on Mallard's peg 20 saw Kieran Bell take his new pb cat of 43lb 8oz.

A three day session on Kingfisher's peg 26 saw B. Tullett record his first ever double figured tench, a beauty stopping the needle spot on 10lb.

Lou and Jo Stempien set up in the double swim on Mallard and both recorded new pb's. Lou's new cat best is now 46lb 1oz, while Jo's is up to 45lb 2oz.

Four days on peg 3 saw D. Dunk log 12 fish. His best cat prior to his visit was 6lb it now stands at an impressive 48lb.

A week spent on Mallard's peg 10 saw M. Scott log an impressive haul of 16 fish. M's total catch added up to 330lb, with his best cat being 39lb and best carp being a common of 38lb 4oz.

Scott Wetten spent the same week on Mallard as M's and Scott final tally even surpassed that of M's as his total catch exceeded 406lb. Scotts' best of session was a cat of 39lb 4oz.

Three days on peg three saw Nick Davies weigh in nine cats and two carp, Nick's best cat of session was 47lb.

Paul Dobson's week session on Mallard saw him capture the first 50 pounder of the season, with a beauty weighing in at 50lb exactly.

While doing a tench session on Kingfisher Own Giles had ten of the old “red eyes”, with his best being a new pb at 10lb 4oz.

Phil Etherton sat and waited for 47.5 hours of his 48 hour session, but was finally rewarded as he was packing up with a beautiful cat of 45lb.

First timer to the Fishery J. Bartley fished Kingfisher armed with luncheon meat and was well rewarded with the capture of three commons, 27lb, 40lb and a stunner at 41lb 2oz.

May saw the "Smiffs" arrive for a session on Mallard. Pat ended up with seven cats for 185lb 6oz, best being 44lb 13oz and one common of 32lb 8oz. Ray weighed in 324lb, comprising seven cats over 43lb and five carp to 24lb 2oz. Mike had three cats, largest being 39lb 4oz, six carp to 21lb and four koi to 13lb 2oz, his total tally was 214lb 12oz.
