Autumn - September, October, November
NOVEMBER 2010
November saw very little activity around the lakes.
Stuart Nesbitt (our bailiff) had a "cell" session on Kingfisher and recorded a 21lb koi, and a 30lb 10oz common also from Kingfisher.
Ian Cox had a 27lb 2oz koi from Kingfisher and was planning another visit in December?! Tim Walsh landed a 24lb koi from peg 24 on Kingfisher and Mike Everingham had a 20lb mirror and a 20lb 2oz common in a session on Kingfisher too!
OCTOBER 2010
The end of October saw Luke Hendley bag a 47lb 7oz mirror from Kingfisher, his previous mirror pb was only 17lb!!!!!!!!!!!
Gary Essery who is a permanent feature on the bankside at the moment has been patient of late, but was delighted to to record the first 30 pounder from Heron. A special thanks to Gary F for getting up at 2.45am to take the pic!

Ian Cox was back again for a session - best described in his own words:-
"Session from heaven 07/10/2010 – 17/10/2010After arriving at the lake around 11am I found all the swims I really fancied taken and was contemplating setting up at the Eastern side of Kingfisher but, not ever having much luck that side. However, after chatting to the guys already on the bank I discovered that two of them were off that afternoon, so I decided to hang on and drop in to peg 26 later in the afternoon (good decision).Four days into the trip and with no fish on the bank and one lost in the snags, I was beginning to doubt everything from rigs, bait and positioning, but I stuck with the spots I was fishing, trickling a little bait in twice a day and on the 5th night was rewarded with a 29lb common, then early the next morning (Tuesday) a 22lb common. A quiet day followed and then a run at 2am Wednesday saw a 43.1 common (fat lip) grace the net. I was obviously delighted but also felt that the fish were feeding and there was a chance of perhaps a couple more fish!! Wednesday night saw two more commons on the bank, a 25lb and a 31.8lb, both in superb condition. Nothing more during the day on Thursday until a run at around 6pm saw the ‘big mirror’ in the net weighing in at 45.10lb, unbelievable, after not much sleep that night (buzzin) I had a take at 9am which unfortunately I lost in the snags and with the sun up and a chilly North Easterly wind blowing I wasn’t to confident of any action (what do I know!). At 11am another take on the same rod and after an amazing scrap the net slipped under another huge common, the ‘up front’ tipped the scales to 45.8lb. No more action followed for the last 48 hours of the session but to say I was thrilled would be the understatement of the year. Thanks to all at Wintons for making a session of a lifetime possible and I can’t wait to be back next month."

Early October brought "happy days" for Tim Wash, the "Fatlip" common put in an appearance for him at an impressive 42lb 10oz.

SEPTEMBER 2010
Phil Murray made a long trip from up north for a session on Kingfisher. Corn and hemp gave him two commons of 31lb ans 32lb 4oz and a koi of 10lbish!
P.Bridger had a mixed bag from Mallard's peg 11 - seven cats to 58lb 8oz, two common of 24lb 3oz and 20lb 6oz and a leather of 22lb 8oz.Towards the end of September Kelly Mackenzie was back for another three day cat session on Mallard. Once again it makes good reading in the Record Book - 14 cats on nugget and worms from 15 to 55lbs!!!!!!Active 8 bait was the right choice for E. Debenham when he landed a "stunning" common of 26lb from peg 15 on Mallard.Worms were Nik Hannington's choice of bait for a session on Mallard and fishing between the island he landed six cats between 9pm and midnight, best being 49lb 8oz.It was good to see Ian Cox back now that the cricket season has finished, despite not fishing for several months he has still not lost his touch! First visit back saw him land a 41lb 8oz common from Kingfisher's peg 31.
Peg 50 on Heron gave Tom Quinnell "pukka" fishing, with a haul of seven cats to 42lb, plus and 24lb common.
The Swanton Liverpool lads made another trip south in mid September and were glad that it was suggested they move swims, as they had "a session of a lifetime!"
From peg 7 on Mallard they had six cats between them, Paul senior bagged one of 62lb and another 52lb, while Paul junior landed one of 56lb, one of 36lb, one of 42lb, plus a 50 pounder.
Later that week Rob Needham had is first cat from Mallard's peg 1, a beauty of 57lb, followed by another one two days later at 40lbs.
Early September gave Kelly Mackenzie a four day session of all night fish only, a tremendous haul of 20 catfish to 60lb 10 oz and just to vary it slightly a 25lb 14oz common.
