JUNE

Early June saw Keith Cook on Kingfisher for the first time - landing a 33lb 2oz common, 12lb 8oz koi and 8lb 11oz tench all on "cell".

First time catfishing for Dean Hopson and his cousin Adam Merryweather was "awesome".  Hardly surprising they described their session like that, as they landed between them, a 50lb 4oz cat for Dean and for Adam, two cats of 62lb 9oz and 68lb 6oz.

Despite a good session on Mallard for Joe Stempien, he was glad to go home to his own comfortable bed - his back was protesting against three days on a bedchair!  He landed 12 cats best being 62lb 2oz.

Dave Cromwell and Andy Verrier had an all cat session, Dave landed three of 20lb 4oz, 34lb 6oz and 38lb 10oz, while Andy had three of 18lb 8oz, 47lb 7oz and pb of 61lb on squid!

Catfishing has got Dave Griffin "hooked", only little ones, but you have to start somewhere - one of 5lb, then one of 6lb 8oz and then one of 21lb 5oz.

George Buery was "over the moon" with a 61lb 8oz cat - believe it or not on BREAD!!!!!!!!

In their words:

"A good night fishing was had by Darren Parkinson and Trevor little as they landed a record catfish of 71lb at 07.30 in the morning just in the middle of lake between peg 12 and the island on much loved halibut pellet 22mm.  Now that’s one record set lets all put our hands together for the lads on the swim either side helping with the weighing of this magnificent fish and the management for there up keep and the maintenance of Wintons with keeping the fish in good condition, so its eyes set on the magic 80lb."
