FEBRUARY 2011
It was not until the third week February that there was anything on the bank!
Kingfisher produced another common for Chris Bright, but this time it was 38lb 08oz!
Ian Taylor then coaxed a 26lb 8oz common from Mallard and is now looking forward to more success this Season.
Alex Farnworth took two early tench from Kingfisher - one of an estimated 6-7lb and another of 8lb 12oz.
JANUARY 2011
January saw virtually no activity too!
The only catch recorded was a 30lb 8oz pb common for Chris Bright on "pop up cell" from Kingfisher.
A few anglers have put in time over the month, but nothing else has graced the bank!!!!!
Given that there is nothing else to report though we would take the opportunity to put the record straight:
I know many of you are very keen on carp chat and are therefore active on the carp forums (a world that I am not yet familiar with!!!).
So I am sure I can rely on some of you to “spread the word”, as the gossip that is being filtered back to us, is as usual totally inaccurate. The fish have not been killed or moved and the lakes certainly have not been drained!
There will always be talk about green and brown land being developed, purely because the media are always banging on about the need for more housing, specifically in the south east.
So as a result, there has for 15 plus years been some interest in Wintons Farm being a potential development site.
Nothing has ever come to fruition, mostly it comes down to “talk is cheap”, and there has been much of that over the last five years or so!
Wintons Fishery is here to stay and will continue to grow, develop and remain one of the most prestigious waters in the UK!
So there - put that it your pipe and smoke it!!!!!!!!!!!!
DECEMBER 2010
Sadly there is nothing to report from the Record Book for December as we were well and truly snowed in and iced over!.
A few members ventured out when the snow started to disappear but were disappointed that there was to be no fishing over the holidays as we still had two inches of ice!!!!!
The Fishery may have looked stunning under a thick blanket of snow but it certainly was the "graveyeard shift" as we barely saw a sole all month!!
