WHAT WINTONS HAS DONE AND WHAT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO DO:

Things are running smoothly with new protocols in place. Thank you to all who have visited Wintons since the 13th May 2020 and for following the governments Stay Alert Stay Safe campaign and abiding by the rules Wintons have put in place.

Our priority is to keep our customers and colleagues safe and healthy and to help slow down the spread of COVID-19. We are taking these measures extremely seriously and we expect you to act responsibly. If you cannot follow these rules you will be asked to leave. Please let us know if anyone is not following the advice.

PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS ON ARRIVAL AND REGULARLY DURING YOUR STAY.
PLEASE STAY 2 METRES APART FROM OTHER MEMBERS AND STAFF.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN ANTISEPTIC WIPES.

Wintons is known for its friendliness. But these are extraordinary times and we therefore ask you politely:

Not to gather outside the office for a chat.

No visitors to your swim unless they are from your household. No visiting Wintons or walking around the lakes if not fishing.

Please keep 2 metres apart from other customers and staff. We have safety tape on the floor outside the office and gents which is 2 metres apart. Please queue in a line on the tape.

For safety we are not allowing customers in the office.
Please pay either by contactless, mobile to the office or cash.
(no receipts will be given)

On arrival
For all our safety we want to keep contact to a minimum.
Therefore:
Please let the office know you have arrived whilst in the carpark or phone us from your car.
Please pay over the phone 01444 236493, (before or on arrival before 11am for AM starts and by 4pm for PM starts or first thing the following morning) or leave the cash in an envelope with your name and booking details, through the letter box on the door.

Dip your equipment as usual and head straight to your swim.
Please use your common sense to give the maximum distance between swims when setting up your bivvy. Eg Swim 1 to the left and swim 3 to the right.

Swims
We have blocked off certain swims to keep to the 15m distance between each one. To enforce the distance suggested by The Angling Trust these swims are closed:

Swim 8 Unless you are from the same household  as 7 (not friends)
Swim 17 Unless you are from the same household as 18 (not friends)
Swim 19

Kingfisher Lake Closed swims
Swims 21 and 22 The Royal Box Unless you are from the household (not friends)

Same rules apply as usual 2 on the small side and 4 on the large side. Please use common sense and social distance.

The ideal scenario to use are: The Gatepost, Fat Finger, Jacuzzi and then choose one from Ski, Corner or Carpet. Then the small side Socket and Bill’s. Spread out! Unfortunately we will move you if needs be.

Swim 44
Swim 49

Please keep socialising on the bank to a minimum and stay in your swim. Helping others with landing and weighing fish is forbidden unless you are from the same household. If you are in any doubt about landing or weighing a catfish up to 95lb, safely by yourself, please wait until social distancing is relaxed to return to Wintons or release it in the water. Your safety and that of our fish is priority. Photos from another member are acceptable, please ensure the 2 metre rule. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of the moment. No rods in the water to be left unattended at anytime. (We will be writing separately about this as some members are not adhering to this and we will be enforcing this with no excuses). Rig checks will still be carried out on a regular basis and we ask that you step back 2 metres from the bailiff after winding in for your check. This is for your safety and that of the bailiffs. For your information Bailiffs carrying out these duties are: Stuart (Head bailiff), Mike, Andy, Joe and Harry. All of the bailiffs have full authority and the right to question you and we expect respect shown to all of them.

The Wendy House will be closed. If you want to charge your phone we will have a power point up and running near the office. 9-5pm

The shower is out of use.

The outside door of the washroom has been left open to reduce touching of the handle. Please wash your hands entering the gents and again on leaving.

Please bring your own barrow if you can.

We will spray the barrows with antiseptic at the beginning and end of the day. Please bring your own barrow if you can. And your own wipes.

The competitions have been cancelled until we are giving further guidance. Your space is still confirmed and if competitions are not allowed at this time we can just turn the competitions into just fishing.

If you or anyone in your household feels unwell and have any symptoms of Covid 19, please don’t come for your session and cancel your booking. If you feel unwell during your session please leave as soon as possible and inform a member of our team immediately.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you back to Wintons and to start fishing! We have tried to cover everything here and things will evolve as we get used to a new way of fishing. And I am sure there will be more questions and adaptions in due course, please call or email the office for any enquiries.
